Ilparpa Claypans working bee , Sunday 4th of October

Thank you to everyone coming along last Sunday to our Ilparpa Claypans working bee! Your efforts this morning will make available to some grateful trees, shrubs and soft plants any rain that comes, and help protect from fire.
Thank you especially to Brenda for sharing your knowledge, the wonderful story of how the Kati-Thanda/Lake Eyre map came into being and the re-making of relationships between contributing mobs right across the basin area, rendering settler borders superficial in the process. It was a great honour to hear your perspective, and see how the Ilparpa Claypans fit into the much larger scene. Thank you for so generously sharing your stories of this piece of country we all love.
A special thanks too to Bill for a geological tour de force. Your knowledge and experience complemented Brenda’s deep knowledge so well. I hope everyone else who could stay for the talk left with rich understanding and a hunger for more.
